Assembly- February 2016

On the 24th of February, our assembly once again stole the show and earned its place as one of the highlights of the newly commenced school year, a spectacle that shall be talked about in every echelon of the school's academic and administrative hierarchy.

Having become weary of the monotony of a current affair topics selected to showcase to the already aware audience since time immemorial, we decided to bring out a flair of individualism that would set us a class apart and ingrain us in the minds of each and every individual sitting before us.

Putting our heads together to achieve this common ambition, it was concluded that we ought to do something to encourage team spirit and incite the notion of friendly competition for the 4 groups that represent the elements- Agni, Aakash, Prithvi & Jal.
While achieving this, our goal was also to give our assembly a tangible counterpart in the form of something utilitarian, best suited to the needs of the school in the long term.

By bringing together these factors, we realized that the best way to do this would be to design insignias for the respective groups that it is best representative of.

This responsibility was delegated amongst the members of each house and it was up to them to design an apropos insignia to evoke the right emotions in their teammates to help them annihilate their opponent when the Sports Competitions begin.

The result of the hard work and conviction of all of our members is shown in the presentation attached below and what follows that is the reasoning that went into designing the insignia for the respective groups.

Agni: We chose the eyes of a tiger to represent Agni but not because of the tiger's fiery reddish-orange coat. A tiger is a powerful and ferocious fighter and the last thing a prey sees is the tiger's eyes, hence this insignia.
- Minal Shah

Aakash: The insignia that we have chosen is that of an eagle because we want to soar over everything, in the skies and the eagle is also a symbol of speed, stealth and finesse. We feel tahnt our groups qualities are best portrayed by the Eagle.
- Keval Patel

Jal: As you all can see in this design, it's free flowing like water which signifies the fact that we are very flexible with things and we accept everyone's opinions however there are edges too so when we take decisions or have to have consequences for something wrong that happens, we're firm. Also, water has dissolving properties so that also counts for how we incorporate everybody's views and because it's flowing in various directions it symbolizes our diversity in various aspects. The colour blue is a cool colour conveying that we're calm and composed.
-Gunjan  Hariramani

Prithvi: The reason why we've chosen this image of a shoot as our insignia is because it represents hope and the nurturing properties of nature. Prithvi, the main constituent of which is the earth and soil, conveys to all of us, the importance of being grounded, fostering growth in everything and everyone around us and our attitude of never giving up.

Academic Year 2016

With the coming of New Years, we have not only entered into a whole new year but our advisory has also expanded with new students having joined in from our wadi campus who are here for their IB and have just begun their 11th grade. We also extend our heartiest congratulations to our most recent alumni for their wonderful contributions through the year and wish them the very best for their further education. They have indeed set an admirable benchmark for all of us to live up to!

Thus, the new list of students in our advisory is as follows:
Abhishek Santoki          -IB2
Aditya Parsana              -IB2
Gunjan Hariramani       -IB2
Keval Patel                   -IB1
Mahir Shaparia             -IB2
Minal Shah                   -IB2
Neel Lalani                   -IB1
Vihaan Kalaria             -IB1

We look forward to hearing the ideas and opinions that these promising minds from IB-1 put forth and discuss news and events to expand our understanding of every concept under the sun to the best of our abilities. The best element of such an informally structured advisory initiative is to get them the mentors they need in their formative yet crucial years and for them to learn from every mistake that they observe, make or hear about and find themselves a role model in their seniors of IB2 to learn and also anticipate the responsibilities that they are being groomed for because the same lies ahead for them at the end of their academic year.
As we always will believe and attempt to convey through our actions,  Self sustainability is the key to consistent growth.
